New Delhi, Sept 4: Television actor Ashish Kapoor was arrested by the Delhi Police in Pune following a sexual harassment complaint filed by a woman. The incident allegedly occurred during a house party in Delhi in the second week of August.
According to reports, the woman met Kapoor through social media and accused him of sexually assaulting her in a washroom at the party. Initially, the woman named Kapoor, his friend, the friend’s wife, and two unidentified individuals in her FIR. However, she later revised her statement, claiming that only Kapoor had sexually harassed her.
The complainant further alleged that the incident was recorded on video, although the police have yet to recover any such footage. She also stated that after leaving the washroom, she was assaulted by Kapoor’s friend’s wife, who made the PCR call to the police, leading to the investigation.
Ashish Kapoor was traced to Pune and subsequently taken into custody. Police are continuing to investigate the case, and further details are awaited.
Ashish Kapoor began his television career with Ssshhh…Phir Koi Hai (2010). He went on to appear in numerous popular shows, including Chand Chupa Badal Mein, Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage, Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar, Saraswatichandra, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Molkki – Rishton Ki Agnipariksha, and Woh Apna Sa.
Kapoor gained widespread recognition for his role as Udayveer Singh (Uday) in Dekha Ek Khwaab, where his on-screen chemistry with Priyal Gor was well-received.
His personal life has also attracted media attention. He previously dated co-star Priyal Gor and Albanian model Ilda Kroni before getting engaged to TV producer Pearl Grey in 2021. The couple even got matching tattoos with the phrase “till death do us apart,” but they broke up a year later.
