Patna, August 19: RJD leader and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav was detained by police in Patna on Wednesday while leading a march to protest the recent police action against demonstrators during protests over the NEET paper leak issue in Bihar.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K. Sharma, Yadav was taken into custody near the Income Tax office and later escorted away in a police vehicle.
Speaking before being taken away, the RJD leader accused the government of jeopardising the future of students and failing to prevent repeated examination paper leaks.
“The government is pushing the future of students into darkness. Exam papers are getting leaked frequently,” Yadav alleged as he was being placed inside the police van.
The detention came amid heightened political protests over the alleged NEET paper leak and the police action against students and other demonstrators in Bihar.
