
Rayagada, Jul 30: In a significant development in the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) question paper leak case, the Crime Branch has detained a teacher from Ambadala village in Muniguda block, Rayagada district. The arrest comes in the wake of the cancellation of the OTET exam, which was called off after the paper was leaked prior to its scheduled date.
The detained individual has been identified as Bijay Mishra, who serves as the president of the Rayagada District Ex-Cadre Teachers’ Association and is currently posted at Dangarabari Primary School. Acting on leads gathered during the investigation, the Crime Branch, with support from local police, apprehended Mishra earlier today.
Sources said, - Mishra is suspected of playing a key role in the leak, although officials have yet to release details about his interrogation or current location.
The paper leak has caused widespread concern across the state, sparking outrage among aspiring teachers and prompting authorities to tighten security around examination protocols.
The Crime Branch continues to probe deeper into the incident, with more detentions likely as the investigation progresses.
