Bhubaneswar, November 5: In a significant development in the high-profile murder case of senior lawyer and BJP leader Pitabas Panda, the Berhampur police on Wednesday conducted a reconstruction of the crime scene. The reenactment took place at the Baikuntha Nagar locality in Berhampur, Ganjam district, where Panda was brutally murdered.

The prime accused, Kurupati Bhuyan and Uma Bisoyi, were brought to the crime spot, accompanied by other suspects. As part of the ongoing investigation, the police have taken six individuals into remand for further questioning in connection with the murder.

Pitabas Panda, a prominent figure in the legal and political circles, was shot at point-blank range on October 6. In the aftermath of the tragic event, a total of 16 individuals, including former MLA and BJD leader Bikram Panda, have been arrested in connection with the case.

 The crime scene reconstruction is a key step in piecing together the sequence of events that led to the murder. Police officials confirmed that all available evidence is being carefully compiled to ensure a strong case against those responsible.
