Mumbai, July 15: The much-anticipated second installment of the Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey-starrer, ‘Haseen Dillruba’, titled ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’, is set to premiere on Netflix on August 9.
While the first part was directed by Vinil Mathew, known for his work on ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’, the sequel sees Jayprad Desai taking over the directorial reins.
The film continues the tumultuous journey of the ill-fated lovers Rani, played by Taapsee Pannu, and Rishu, portrayed by Vikrant Massey.
‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’ also features Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergill in pivotal roles. The story picks up from where ‘Haseen Dillruba’ left off, following Rani and Rishabh as they begin a new chapter in Agra. With authorities on their trail and blood marking their path, their journey takes a dramatic turn with the arrival of Abhimanyu, played by Sunny Kaushal. The lovers face new enemies in Jimmy Shergill's character and others who seek to thwart their plans.
The script for ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’ has been penned by Kanika Dhillon, a frequent collaborator with Taapsee Pannu. Kanika has previously worked with Taapsee on projects such as ‘Manmarziyaan’, ‘Haseen Dillruba’, ‘Rashmi Rocket’, and the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan-starrer, ‘Dunki’. In addition to her writing duties, Kanika also serves as a co-producer for the film.
Produced by Aanand L. Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series Films, ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’ promises to be a gripping continuation of the saga of Rani and Rishu.
