Paradip, Sept 1: In a shocking incident, several fishermen have nabbed a youth having suspicious activiies in the sea at a distance of around 72 nautical miles from Paradip coast in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district.
According to reports, a group of fishermen spotted a youth swimming in the mid-sea and then climbing up a boat. Suspecting him to be an intruder; the fishermen detained the youth and informed the police about the incident. He was brought to Neheru Bangala Fishing Port on Paradip coast and was handed over to the police for interrogation. An ATM card was seized from his possession.
During the interrogation, the youth revealed that he was from Jharkhand and worked as a menial labourer. He stated before the cops that he slipped into the sea and after swimming for three to four hours he found the fishing boat, which he mounted with a hope to be saved from drowning..
However, further investigation was on to ascertain more details, sources added.
