
Cuttack, Oct 6: While a 36-hour curfew in Cuttack city is yet in force, suspension of internet services was extended by 24 hours on Monday.
In view of the escalation, the Odisha Home Department exetended the imposition to check the alleged provocation and rumour spread on social media.
Earlier in the morning, the Cuttack District administration had proposed the state government to extend the internet suspension period, on the basis of the impending tension in the city, following a scuffle of a mob with police on Sunday. It was approved by the Home Deparment in the evening.
Worth mentioning, suspension of internet services with restrictions in using social media messengers were in force till 7 PM today.
With the extension, internet services will remain suspended till 7 PM on Tuesday.
