Cuttack, Feb 26: In another instance of atrocity towards minor girls, a schoolgirl has been allegedly raped in Odisha’s Cuttack, a few days ago.

The incident took place in the city under the Cantonment Police Station that came to limelight on Thursday after a formal complaint was lodged with police regarding the minor girl's ordeal.

The survivor is the student of a Cuttack-based private school.

Police have not made the identity of the accused public, to ascertain the modus operandi of the heinous crime.

According to police, the accused bus driver who used to ferry the school students including the victim, allegedly raped the schoolgirl.

Acting on the complaint of the survivor’s mother, the bus driver was taken into custody.

Further investigation is underway, based on the victim’s statement & accounts of the prime witness.

The harrowing incident that took place following the gang rape of a minor girl in a Kendrapara-based school, is now a talk of the town.
