Keonjhar, Sept 23: Suakati Gram Panchayat from Keonjhar district has been honored with the prestigious Jury Award in the newly introduced category of “Grassroots-level initiatives in Gram Panchayats for deepening service delivery” at the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2025. This recognition highlights the Panchayat’s exemplary efforts in digitizing public services and enhancing governance at the grassroots level.
The award was presented during the 28th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG), held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The event was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, while Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for the Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, conferred the awards.
Suakati Gram Panchayat, led by Sarpanch Kautuka Naik, was recognized for its successful implementation of the OdishaOne and Seva Odisha platforms. These platforms have digitized essential citizen services, providing 24/7 access and real-time tracking, significantly improving service delivery and transparency. Notably, the model emphasizes inclusive governance, with a focus on women’s leadership and last-mile delivery, ensuring that no citizen is left behind in accessing government services.
Other notable winners included Rohini Gram Panchayat (Maharashtra), which received the Gold Award, and West Majlishpur Gram Panchayat (Tripura), which won the Silver Award. Palsana Gram Panchayat from Gujarat was also honored with a Jury Award.
As part of the recognition, each winning Panchayat received a trophy, certificate, and financial incentives ₹10 lakh for the Gold Award, and ₹5 lakh for the Silver Award to reinvest in citizen-centric initiatives aimed at further enhancing service delivery.
This award category, instituted for the first time this year by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) in collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, aligns with the vision that "Good Governance is best delivered through Digital Governance."
The two-day National Conference, themed “Viksit Bharat: Civil Service and Digital Transformation,” will continue on September 23 with a special plenary session chaired by Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The session will showcase these Panchayat-level innovations, with the aim of replicating successful models across India to strengthen digital governance at the grassroots level.
