Sambalpur, Sept 7: A student narrowly escaped a potentially serious attack after an arrow allegedly aimed at him struck the food plate he was carrying while he was on his way to school. The shocking incident took place near a school in Keutberni village under Naktideul block of Rairakhol subdivision.

According to reports, Amulya Dhal was taking his son, Soumyaranjan Dhal, to school when a local man identified as Muchi Sahu allegedly fired an arrow at the student.

The arrow reportedly came hurtling towards Soumyaranjan but hit the food plate he was carrying, which acted like a shield and prevented the arrow from striking him directly. As a result, the student escaped what could have been a serious injury.

A case of attempted murder is suspected in connection with the incident, while previous enmity is believed to be a possible reason behind the alleged attack.

Police have reportedly launched an investigation into the incident and are probing the circumstances surrounding the attack.
