STF seizes leopard skin in Odisha’s Rayagada, Two held

The two wildlife criminals have been identified as Bikram Majhi and Raja Majhi of Suresi under Chandrapur police limits of the district

Rayagada, Nov 8: On the basis of reliable information, a team of Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday conducted raid at Tamparbiduni Chhak under Chandili Police limits in  Rayagada regarding dealing/possession of wildlife products by wildlife criminals and arrested two persons in this connection.  

The two wildlife criminals have been identified as Bikram Majhi and Raja Majhi of Suresi under Chandrapur police limits of the district.

During the search two Leopard Skin and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession. The accused persons could not produce any authority in support of possession of such Leopard Skins, for which they have been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court of SDJM, Rayagada. In this connection STF PS Case No.27 dated

The seized skins will be sent to Director WII, Derhadun for biological examination. Further investigation is going on.
