Bhubaneswar, June 17: In light of the alarming rise in cases of diarrhea across several districts, including Jajpur, the Odisha government convened a high-level review meeting on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary.
Senior officials from the Health Department, including the Health Secretary, Director of Health Services, Director of Public Health, and district collectors from affected regions, attended the meeting to assess the ground situation and discuss containment strategies.
Reports indicate a worsening health scenario in several areas, prompting the state government to shift into full action mode. Sanitation and disinfection drives have been launched in the worst-affected localities, while medical teams are actively conducting health screenings of local residents.
The government is also taking proactive steps to prevent further spread of the infection. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary emphasized the need for swift, coordinated action and continuous monitoring in vulnerable zones.
Health officials have been directed to remain on high alert and ensure that adequate medical supplies and personnel are deployed in all impacted districts.
