Special Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (SOTET) 2025 exam rescheduled; Know date, timing & admit card release date

Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: The postponed Special Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (SOTET) 2025 will now be conducted on August 31, 2025 (Sunday), as announced by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, Cuttack.

According to the official notification, the exam will be held in two sittings. Paper-I (1st Sitting) will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, while Paper-II (2nd Sitting) will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

Candidates who are scheduled to appear for the examination can download their admit cards from the official BSE Odisha website, www.bseodisha.ac.in, starting from August 22.

The Board has cautioned that the admit cards will be generated based on the information provided by candidates during the online application process. Any discrepancies or false information will lead to the cancellation of the candidate's candidature and result, with the individual being subject to prosecution as per the rules.

The notification also mentioned that Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates should report to the concerned Centre Superintendents at least four days before the exam date, with all original supporting documents, to avail the benefits entitled to them according to guidelines issued by the Board in line with resolutions from the Department of SSEPD.

It is important to note that the BSE Odisha had to postpone the Special OTET exam that was originally scheduled for July 20 after a question paper leak was discovered just hours before the test. Following the incident, an administrative officer of BSE, Bulbul Behera, filed a formal complaint. As a result, the Crime Branch has arrested seven individuals, including Jitan Moharana, a Data Entry Operator at the BSE office in Cuttack, in connection with the leak.
