Bhubaneswar, July 12: Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Friday said that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the opening of Puri Srimandir’s Ratna Bhandar will be finalized by tomorrow.
Speaking to the media persons, Harichandan said that the SOPs are being examined from various aspects including the legal angle. The government will take a final call regarding this by Saturday.
Notably, the SOPs were recommended by the high-level committee chaired by Justice Biswanath Rath.
Earlier on July 9, the high-level committee had proposed the State Government to open the Ratna Bhandar (treasury) of the Puri Srimandir on July 14.
The proposal was decided in the second meeting of the reconstituted committee, which was established to oversee the inventorying of valuables, including the jewelry stored in Ratna Bhandar.
The retired High Court judge who headed the high-level committee said that regardless of whether the key is available or functional, the Ratna Bhandar will be reopened.
He added that special arrangements will be made to ensure that the devotees can have smooth darshan of the deities during the opening of Ratna Bhandar.
