Bargarh, June 1: At a time when Odisha sizzles with surging day temperatures, heatwave in the Bargarh district on Saturday has claimed a life and left at least 58 persons in hospital.
According to the Bargarh health authorities’ database, a person has died due to suspected heat stroke while almost all hospitals across the district is overcrowded due to admission of the heatwave-related patients.
Public Health Officer Bargarh, Doctor Pradip Majumdar said, as many as 58 patients are undergoning heatwave related treatment in the DHH Bargarh while the number rises in other community hospitals in the estate.
Utmost preparedness is at place to deal with sunstroke patients having being well equipped and dedicated sunstroke wards for the patients, said Dr. Majumdar
