Puri, Dec 5: The Shree Lokanath Temple in Puri, one of Odisha’s revered spiritual landmarks, is undergoing a major facelift as part of a comprehensive development initiative.
This project, under the Odisha government’s temple development program, aims to preserve the temple’s historical significance while improving amenities for its visitors.
A key feature of the upgrade involves replacing the temple’s old, worn-out stones with sturdy and visually appealing Khondalite stones.
The project also includes the expansion of the temple gardens, providing a peaceful and tranquil space for devotees to reflect.
The overhaul includes efforts to repair the temple’s surrounding walls and enhance the drainage system, addressing long-standing infrastructure concerns.
These improvements are designed not only to protect the temple’s sanctity but also to create a more comfortable and welcoming environment for the increasing number of pilgrims.
The initiative underscores the government’s dedication to preserving Odisha’s cultural heritage while meeting the needs of contemporary visitors.
