Bhadrak, Aug 2: A leech was found in the mid-day meal supplied by a private agency to Radhakantpur Dibakar Mishra Government Primary School in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Friday.
According to the reports, a student reportedly spotted a leech in his mid-day meal and soon informed the in-charge headmaster Parshuram Sahu. Sahu then informed the school management committee president and the local councilor. Additionally, he brought the issue to the attention of the block education officer.
Meanwhile, according to parents, the mid-day meals at the school are provided by One Damodar Jew organization, which has faced previous complaints about serving stale and substandard food in unhygienic conditions. Despite earlier grievances, no effective action has been taken.
