Bhubaneswar, April 2: Manoranjan Panigrahi, an accomplished Odia IRS officer, has been appointed as the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax in Odisha on Tuesday.
Panigrahi, who is working as the Chief IT Commissioner of Bihar and Jharkhand, will additionally take up the responsibility as the Odisha Chief IT Commissioner, said the notification issued in this regard.
Earlier, Panigrahi was also assigned the office of the Chief IT Commissioner of West Bengal and Sikkim.
The additional assignment came after his diligent services delivered as the Principal Commissioner of Income Tax in Cuttack. Panigrahi had made significant contributions to various areas within the Income Tax Department, showcasing his commitment and expertise.
He had also served as the Secretary of the Department of Culture, Information, and Public Relations for the Government of Odisha.
During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in promoting Odia language, literature and culture.
