Nottingham, July 18: West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and elected to bowl first at Trent Bridge, here as hosts England stepped into the post James Anderson era in Test cricket on Thursday.
Anderson, who retired after the Lord's Test victory was back with England side as a bowling mentor. Anderson played 188 Test matches and retired as the highest wicket taker among pacers with 704 wickets.
At lunch on Day 1 of the second Test, England were 134/2 in 26 overs. English opener Zak Crawley was dismissed for a three-ball duck. Alick Athanaze took a brilliant catch diving to his left to see off Crawley as pacer Alzarri Joseph celebrated his first victim of the match with England scorecard reflecting on the big screen 0/1.
Ben Duckett, the other opener played in his usual attacking fashion scoring 71 in just 59 balls. He hit 14 boundaries. Duckett was caught by Jason Holder at second slip off fast bowler Shamar Joseph.
England lead the three-Test series 1-0, with an innings and 114 runs victory at Lord's. The hosts won the first Test in just three days. The Third and final Test would be played in Birmingham from July 26.
