Puri, Sept 26: All schools in Odisha's Puri district will remain closed on Thursday following heavy rainfall prediction of the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The district administration has issued a notification in this regard.
The IMD has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall across various regions of Odisha on Thursday.
The met centre has issued an orange warning for districts including Khordha (home to Bhubaneswar), Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, and Angul.
Additionally, a yellow warning for moderate rain and thundershowers has been issued for districts such as Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, and Deogarh, expected to affect these areas within the next three hours.
Worth mentioning, Cuttack, Khordha and Puri experiencing incessant downpours since the wee hour today. The Konark Sun Temple premise have been inundated with water, reaching ankle-deep levels, with water logging causing inconvenience for tourists.
