Addressing the media on Sunday, Al-Jalajel highlighted that the kingdom's healthcare sector managed numerous cases of heat stress, with some patients still receiving medical care, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

"Several elderly and chronically ill individuals were among the deceased," the minister noted, explaining that unregistered pilgrims were particularly vulnerable to the heat as they walked long distances under direct sunlight without adequate shelter.

Despite initial challenges due to a lack of personal information or identification documents, all victims have been identified and their families notified. The authorities ensured proper identification, burial, and issuance of death certificates.
