Bhubaneswar: Saraju Chakraborty of Tripura Sports Committee and Ramesh Varikuppala of Telangana Sports Journalist Association elected as the president and secretary of the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) for the period of 2025-2027.
The elections to the office of President and four Vice-Presidents of the SJFI was held during the federation’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held here on Sunday. Laxminarayan Kamath conducted the election as the returning officer.
The candidates for the post for secretary, joint secretary, treasurer (one post each) and seven executive committee members were elected unopposed.

Dipak Ragav and Suresh Swain, Secretary; Ramesh Varikuppala, Joint Secretary; Partha Chakraborty, Treasurer; Sanjay Gharpure, Executive Committee members; Atul J Loke (Sports Journalists Association of Mumbai), Imtiaz Ahmed (Assam SJA), Rajesh Kumar C K (Kerala SJA), Sabu Cheriyaan (SJA of Gujarat), Sandeep Mishra (Odisha SJA), Suprabhat Debnath (Tripura SJC) and Swaroop Swaminathan (Tamil Nadu SJA).
