Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: Former HR Director of the Aditya Birla Group, Dr. Santrupt Misra, today joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha. 

His induction into the ruling party of Odisha took place in the presence of BJD Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, alongside senior party stalwarts such as Pranab Prakash Das, Pratap Deb, and Snehangini Chhuria at Naveen Niwas today.

Dr. Misra brings with him a rich professional background, having served in various capacities including as the Director of Human Resources for the Aditya Birla Group, Group Director of Birla Carbon, and Director of Chemicals.

Santrupt Misra has been appointed as national spokesperson of BJD. He may be fielded as BJD candidate for Rajya Sabha election.

Expressing his sentiments upon joining the BJD, Dr. Misra conveyed his enduring connection with Odisha despite years spent away from the state. He articulated his desire to return and contribute to the well-being of its people after an extensive career abroad.

Dr. Misra cited his admiration for CM Naveen Patnaik's governance ideology as a key motivating factor behind his decision to align with the BJD. He praised Patnaik's visionary leadership, emphasizing the state's remarkable progress under his stewardship for the past 25 years, marked by principled governance and a holistic approach integrating spiritual values into administration.
