Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: Today, the world observes United Nations Day, commemorating the enforcement of the UN Charter in 1945.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi took to Twitter to honor the UN’s contributions, stating, “On United Nations Day, we respectfully remember and celebrate 80 years of the UN’s efforts towards world peace, unity, and collective cooperation. Today, let us reaffirm our commitment to building a peaceful, just, and prosperous world.”

The United Nations was established after the Second World War with 51 member countries and continues to function in six official languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish. Its core objectives include maintaining international peace and security, protecting human rights, providing humanitarian assistance, supporting sustainable development and climate action, and upholding international law.
