Royal Challengers Bengaluru restrict Gujarat Titans to low score

Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru choked Gujarat Titans to a modest 155 for 8 during the grand finale at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. Sharp pace execution and disciplined spin bowling completely choked the opposition after RCB elected to field first.

Seamers Rattle Top Order

Early breakthroughs set the tone for the title defenders. Josh Hazlewood dismissed dangerous opener Shubman Gill for just 10 runs, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar removed Sai Sudharsan shortly after. Gujarat crawled to 45 for 2 inside the initial six overs, failing to find any boundary-hitting rhythm against the new ball.

Mid-Over Squeeze Stifles Titans

Spin bowling sustained the pressure as Krunal Pandya delivered an incredibly economical spell. This tight bowling forced errors, allowing Rasikh Salam Dar to send back Nishant Sindhu for 20. Pandya soon claimed the crucial wicket of Jos Buttler for a sluggish 19 runs, leaving the Gujarat innings in deep trouble at 83 for 4.

Late Resistance Falls Short

Washington Sundar offered the lone fightback for Gujarat, fighting his way to a 37-ball half-century. However, wickets kept falling at the other end. Rasikh Salam Dar excelled in the final overs, ending with impressive figures of 3 for 27, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar wrapped up his spell with 2 for 29.

Late boundaries from Rashid Khan were cut short by Dar, ensuring the Titans finished well below par. Bengaluru now requires 156 runs to secure back-to-back league titles.
