Star batter ends long wait with spectacular domestic hundred.

Virat Kohli has once again proven why he is considered a modern-day great by marking his return to domestic cricket with a sensational hundred. Representing Delhi for the first time in 15 years, Kohli smashed a century against Andhra during a high-stakes Vijay Hazare Trophy match held in Bengaluru this Wednesday. This incredible feat comes just shortly after Indian captain Rohit Sharma grabbed headlines with a massive score of 155 for Mumbai in Jaipur.

Playing at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, Kohli looked in sublime form from the very first ball. He reached his 58th List A century in less than 85 deliveries, showcasing the same aggression and precision seen during India's recent tour of South Africa. This performance was not just about the runs; it was a masterclass in anchoring a chase, as he steered Delhi through a challenging 299-run target. His flair and timing reminded spectators why he remains a dominant force in the limited-overs format.

During this historic innings, Kohli also entered an elite club of world cricketers. By scoring his very first run of the match, he became only the ninth player in history to surpass 16,000 List A runs. While a staggering 14,000 of these runs have been scored in the iconic blue jersey of Team India since his debut in 2008, his return to state cricket has added a new, nostalgic chapter to his illustrious career.

The last time fans saw Kohli in a Delhi jersey for this specific tournament was way back in February 2010. At that time, he was a rising star captaining the side against Services at the Gurgaon ground. Interestingly, Mithun Manhas, who currently serves as the BCCI president, scored a century in that same match 15 years ago. Today, Kohli returns as a global sporting icon, yet with the same insatiable hunger for runs. In his previous 2010 appearance, he managed only 16 runs while batting at the number five position. His latest century has not only powered Delhi’s chase but also serves as a massive boost for the spirit of domestic cricket in India.
