New Delhi, March 10: Silver prices saw a significant rise on Tuesday, surging by Rs 10,975 to reach Rs 2.79 lakh per kilogram in the national capital. This price increase was driven by a weakened US dollar, which spurred greater demand for the precious metal. Meanwhile, gold prices also saw a modest rise of Rs 400, tracking positive global trends as the dollar's weakness fueled investor interest in safe-haven assets.

Silver ended its three-day losing streak with a notable 4.09 per cent gain, closing at Rs 2,79,275 per kilogram (inclusive of all taxes) compared to Monday’s Rs 2,68,300 per kilogram, according to the All India Sarafa Association.

Gold, on the other hand, saw a smaller rise of Rs 400, or 0.24 per cent, with the 99.9 per cent pure metal priced at Rs 1,64,700 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes).
