Born in Udupi, Karnataka, he faced early financial struggles that halted his formal schooling. Instead of growing bitter, he used these severe hardships to fuel his lifelong drive to help others.

Historically, regions like coastal Karnataka have seen self-made individuals rise through the demanding hospitality sector to drive local community development. Raju followed this exact path to become a highly respected community leader across Karnataka and Maharashtra. Determined to uplift others, he established Saraswathi Foundation in 2012. He wanted to guarantee that underprivileged children never miss out on proper learning because of extreme poverty. Over the past decade, his organization has supplied crucial educational scholarships, subsidized school access, direct medical aid, and sustainable livelihood programs to marginalized groups.

Relatives shared deeply emotional messages to mark one year since his passing. His wife, Saraswathi, noted that he was her strength and her entire world.
