Rayagada, Ap 24: A significant burglary occurred Thursday night in Danu Sahi under Kalyansinghpur block, where thieves allegedly broke into a businessman’s house, making off with gold ornaments and cash.
According to reports, unidentified criminals stole approximately 82 grams of gold and ₹3 lakh in cash from the residence of businessman Sushant Senapati.
The house was reportedly locked at the time, as the owner and his family, natives of Ganjam district, had traveled to their native village for a few days. The theft came to light Friday morning when they returned home.
Authorities said the intruders gained entry by breaking the rear door and forced open an almirah, taking valuables that included two gold chains, two rings, a pair of earrings, a gold necklace, and cash.
Sushant Senapati stated, “The miscreants broke open the rear door, entered the house, and forced open the almirah before fleeing with the valuables, which include two gold chains, two rings, earrings, a gold necklace, and around ₹3 lakh in cash.”
Following the complaint, Kalyansinghpur police arrived at the scene and began an investigation, though officials have not released additional details at this time.
