Puri, May 23: With the world-famous Rath Yatra set to begin on July 16, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has intensified beautification and development works at the Gundicha Temple in Puri. Lord Jagannath, along with Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, will undertake the annual nine-day journey from the Srimandir to the Gundicha Temple during the festival.

Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee said the renovation and beautification works are progressing on a priority basis to ensure timely completion ahead of Rath Yatra. He informed that the works are being carried out smoothly as per the decisions of the temple management committee and with the cooperation of all stakeholders.

Renovation work at the Tunia Mahal, Ballav Ghar and Roshashala is nearing completion, while the northern gateway of the temple has already been renovated. In addition, light stone installations have been placed along the boundary walls surrounding the Gundicha Temple. The temple administration expressed hope that all ongoing projects will be completed well before the commencement of the annual festival.
