Mumbai, Sept 14: On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the makers of Ramayana: Part 1 unveiled the film’s first motion poster on Monday, offering audiences a glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita.

The motion poster, shared across YouTube, Instagram and X, takes viewers into a serene forest setting where Ram and Sita are seen sitting together beside a flowing river. Dressed in traditional ochre robes, the two share a tender moment as Ram gently places a flower in Sita’s hair while she smiles.

The title Ramayana appears in ornate golden lettering, accompanied by the tagline “Our Truth. Our History.”

The motion poster also confirms the film’s worldwide theatrical release during Diwali 2026. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is being planned as a two-part epic, with Part 1 scheduled to hit theatres on November 6, 2026, while Part 2 is expected during Diwali 2027.

Star-Studded Cast

Along with Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, the film features Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana and veteran actor Arun Govil as King Dasharatha. Govil famously played Lord Ram in the iconic 1990s television series Ramayan.

The film also stars Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi.

A Massive Cinematic Project

Ramayana is reportedly being made on a massive budget of around ₹4,000 crore, making it one of the most ambitious Indian film projects.

Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman are reportedly working on the music, while visual-effects giants DNEG and Prime Focus are among the teams involved in bringing the epic world to the screen.

The film’s earlier trailer had already offered audiences a glimpse of its expansive visual world and ensemble cast. The newly unveiled motion poster has now added to the anticipation surrounding the much-awaited mythological epic.
