Bhubaneswar, June 18: Rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning lashed the capital city Bhubaneswar and several places across the state bringing much-needed relief from the prevailing heat wave conditions.
As per reports, heavy rain, accompanied by lightning, swept across various parts of Bhubaneswar in the afternoon today.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places in Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Balangir, Boudh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Khurda, Keonjhar, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Puri, Sundargarh, Sambalpur and Sonepur till 8.30 am on Wednesday (June 19).
