India U19 vs Pakistan U19: A Dominant Victory for the Boys in Blue

Deepesh and Aaron star in massive win over Pakistan

In a high-stakes encounter at the U19 Asia Cup 2025, the Indian youth team delivered a commanding performance against their arch-rivals, defeating Pakistan by a massive margin of 90 runs. The victory was built on a solid batting foundation led by Aaron George and a lethal bowling attack spearheaded by Deepesh Devendran and Kanishk Chouhan.

Aaron George Anchors the Innings

The match began with some weather interruptions, as rain delayed the toss by an hour at the venue. Due to the lost time, the match officials curtailed the game to 49 overs per side. The Pakistan U19 captain won the toss and elected to field first, hoping to utilize the damp conditions.

However, India’s batting lineup rose to the challenge. Aaron George emerged as the star with the bat, crafting a superb knock of 85 runs. He found an able partner in Abhigyan Kundu, and together they stitched a crucial 60-run partnership that stabilized the innings after India found themselves at 113/4.

While the middle order suffered a brief wobble—losing both George and Kundu in the span of just three deliveries with barely a run added—Kanishk Chouhan stepped up. Chouhan played a vital cameo of 46 runs, ensuring the team pushed toward a competitive total. Thanks to his late aggression, India set a challenging target of 241 runs.

Bowlers Seal the Deal

Chasing 241, Pakistan’s batting lineup crumbled under pressure. Deepesh Devendran was the wrecker-in-chief, tearing through the Pakistani top order and providing breakthroughs exactly when the team needed them.

For Pakistan, Huzaifa Ahsan was the only batter who offered any resistance. He fought a lonely battle, scoring 70 runs off 83 balls. However, his efforts were not enough to save the match. Kanishk Chouhan, continuing his fine form from the first innings, shone with the ball as well, claiming 3 wickets to dismantle the opposition.

Tension at the Toss

The intensity of the rivalry was evident even before the first ball was bowled. Consistent with recent trends in matches between these two nations, there was no handshake exchanged between the captains at the toss, adding an extra layer of tension to the Group Stage clash.

Ultimately, it was a comprehensive day out for the Indians, who outplayed their neighbors in all departments to secure a memorable win in the Asia Cup.
