Bhubaneswar, August 20: While the Odisha Government is coming down hard on the offenders, who stick to ragging, yet such a harsh incident surfaced in the renowned BJB College.
A junior boy was allegedly asked to parade on the campus taking his apparel off in full public view.
The victim boy, a first-year undergraduate student of the Commerce department, identified as Ayushman Pati moved police on Wednesday as his complaint was allegedly ignored by the institution’s Anti-Ragging Cell.
Pati in his complaint has accused another student, identified as Rajan Panda of misbehaving with him and allegedly forcing him to walk around on the campus without any clothes.
He has cited that the harrowing incident took place on August 1 within the college premises.Annoyed on it, he lodged a complaint on his ordeal with the college authorities on August 2, and informed the Anti-Ragging Cell. However, no action was reportedly initiated against the accused.
No official statements have yet been issued by the College Authorities, Anti-Ragging Cell official and the accused as well on the issues.
According to sources, Police is also dealing with the case with utmost care and has initiated an internal investigation into the matter. However, comment from the police is also awaited regarding the sensitive matter.
