Kendrapara, Aug 25: A special Patta Rakhi sent by Maa Subhadra from Srikshetra Puri has arrived at Tulasi Kshetra in Kendrapara ahead of Lord Baladevjew’s birth anniversary.

The sacred Patta Rakhi, prepared as part of the traditional Patta Seva, will be worn by Lord Baladevjew and his younger brother Lord Jagannath during the birthday celebrations on August 27.

The Rakhi was brought from Puri to Kendrapara under the leadership of Ramachandra Das Mahapatra, the Bada Grahi of Maa Subhadra at the Srimandir. Before beginning the journey, the sacred Rakhi was blessed after being touched by Adi Guru Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati.

The Rakhi was then placed on a beautifully decorated chariot and carried to Tulasi Kshetra.

Grand welcome at Baladevjew Temple

Upon its arrival in Kendrapara, the Patta Rakhi received a traditional welcome from the administration of the Sri Baladevjew Temple.

Trust Board president and Additional District Magistrate Nabakrushna Jena, Executive Officer Balabhadra Patri, Trust Board members Pandit Hrushikesh Rath and Nrusingha Prasad Patri, former municipal chairperson Dhiren Sahu, supervisor Nrusingha Charan Patri, Jyotiranjan Patri and temple staff participated in the welcome ceremony.

The sacred Rakhi was taken from the temple office to the main temple amid the sound of bells, gongs and devotional kirtan.

Members of the Patta Seva Sangha, Jagannath Chetana Charan Group, Sri Jagannath Pat Rakhi Development Council and several devotees also participated in the procession.

Two sacred Rakhis kept safely in temple treasury

Under the supervision of Ramachandra Das Mahapatra, two Patta Rakhis were handed over to Maa Subhadra’s Pujapanda Parikshit Kar near the Ratna Singhasana.

The Rakhis were subsequently entrusted to the temple supervisor and Bhandar Rakshak Bhagaban Suar and safely stored in the temple treasury.

According to temple Executive Officer Balabhadra Patri, Lord Baladevjew and his younger brother Lord Jagannath will wear the sacred Patta Rakhis on August 27 during the Lord’s birth anniversary celebrations.

The arrival of Maa Subhadra’s Rakhi from Puri has once again highlighted the deep spiritual and cultural bond between Srikshetra and Tulasi Kshetra.
