Puri schools to remain closed for Deva Snana Purnima

Puri, June 28: In view of the expected surge of devotees for the upcoming Deva Snana Purnima, the Puri district administration has announced the closure of all schools in the Puri Municipal Corporation area on Monday.

Acting on the directions of the District Collector, the District Education Officer issued an official order declaring a holiday for all government, private, and English-medium schools from Shishu Vatika to Class XII.

The decision comes as the holy town witnesses a steady influx of pilgrims from across Odisha and other parts of the country ahead of the grand religious event. The Grand Road has already started filling with devotees eager to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath.

Deva Snana Purnima, the ceremonial bathing festival of Lord Jagannath and his siblings, will be observed on June 29 (Monday). Anticipating large crowds, the district administration has put in place elaborate security measures and comprehensive traffic management arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival and the safety of devotees.
