Puri, July 19: With the Prime ritual of Shri Gundicha festivity, the Rath Yatra 2026 in Puri concludes on Thursday, Adapa Darshan continues in the holy shrine as Lord Jagannath with his sibling deities dazzles on sacred Craddle Altar at Shrigundicha Temple on Sunday.
This follows the ceremonial entry of the deities into the Janmabedi on Saturday evening, concluding their two-day stay on the Bada Danda on their respective chariots(Raths).
As the weather is conducive and influx of visitors to the shrine comparatively fell, devotees flocked at the Saradhabali for holy Adapa Darshan, for its legendary reverence.
Alongside the darshan, the sacred Adapa Abadha is also available at the Gundicha Temple from today, that was stalled inside the Shree Jagannath Temple right from the Devasnan Purnima.
According to traditional beliefs, offering prayers to the deities with Darshan at the Adapa Mandap earns good fortune and wellbeing.
The district administration has put extensive arrangements in place to ensure seamless Adapa Darshan of the devotees.
On Saturday, the Chaturdha Murti entered the Janmabedi inside the temple premises in a deeply devotional atmosphere.
According to the established ritual sequence, Sri Rama, Sri Krishna, and Madanmohan were escorted to the Adapa Mandap first.
Following the rituals, Chakraraj Lord Sudarshan, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and finally Lord Jagannath were taken to their cradle land amid magnificent procession named Goti Pahandi.
Adorned with the ceremonial floral Tahia, Lord Jagannath entered the Gundicha Temple premises with a graceful swaying movement, that caught visitors’ attention amid the sea of devotees.
