Puri, July 28: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced a temporary suspension of darshan at the revered Puri Jagannath Temple for four hours today. The restriction is due to the observance of the sacred ritual ‘Khasapada Lagi,’ which is being performed on the auspicious day of Shraavan Shukla Chaturthi, during the holy month of Shravan.
As part of the ritual, Lord Jagannath along with His divine siblings will undergo a special ceremonial adornment, which necessitates a temporary closure of the sanctum sanctorum to the public. Consequently, darshan will be unavailable from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, following the completion of the temple’s Second Bhog Mandap offering.
During this period, entry into the inner sanctum will be restricted, and devotees will not be allowed to view the deities. Temple authorities have assured that darshan will resume later in the night once the Khasapada Lagi ritual concludes.
The SJTA has urged devotees to plan their temple visits accordingly and to extend their cooperation during the temporary closure.
