Puri, June 24: Showcasing devotion and creativity, local ice-cream stick artist Biswajit Nayak has crafted a miniature replica of Lord Jagannath’s chariot using an unconventional yet symbolic combination of materials, ice-cream sticks, Tulsi malis and glue.

The intricately detailed model stands 8 inches tall and 7 inches wide, and is made with 175 fresh ice-cream sticks and 551 Tulsi malas, reflecting both artistic precision and spiritual symbolism. It took five days of dedicated effort to bring the chariot to life.
Speaking about the creation, Nayak said, “This miniature chariot is my humble offering to Lord Jagannath and His devotees. Every stick and mala has been placed with devotion and care.”

The artwork comes at a time when Puri gears up for the annual Rath Yatra, adding a unique and heartfelt touch to the festive spirit. Devotees and art enthusiasts have praised the model for blending traditional devotion with modern creativity.
Nayak, known locally for his handcrafted models, hopes to inspire young artists to combine devotion and artistry in meaningful ways.
