New Delhi, July 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Russia on Monday to attend the 22nd India-Russia summit scheduled for July 8 and 9. During the summit, PM Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin will review bilateral ties, focusing on defence, investment, energy cooperation, education, and culture.
Following his visit to Russia, Modi will embark on a two-day trip to Austria on July 9, marking the first visit by an Indian prime minister to the country in 41 years. Here is a detailed look at his itinerary:
July 8
Modi will arrive in Moscow in the late afternoon.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will host a private dinner for Modi. The two leaders will discuss regional and global developments of mutual interest, as mentioned by Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra.
July 9
Modi will meet with the Indian community in Russia.
The prime minister will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Kremlin.
He will then visit the Rosatom pavilion at the exhibition venue in Moscow.
The day will include restricted-level talks between the two leaders, followed by delegation-level talks led by Modi and Putin. The discussions are expected to address the early discharge of Indian nationals misled into the service of the Russian Army.
Modi will depart for Vienna, Austria, in the afternoon.
July 9 and 10
In Austria, Modi will meet with the President of Austria and engage in restricted and delegation-level talks.
The visit will also include a high-level business engagement.
Modi will hold discussions with the Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer.
He will interact with members of the Indian community in Vienna.
