Puri, Jan 19: Puri police on Monday conducted a raid on an illegal gambling den near a water reservoir close to Sri Setu and arrested 16 persons in connection with the case. The operation was carried out by Sadar Police following a tip-off from a reliable source.

During the raid, police seized cash amounting to Rs23,800, along with 15 mobile phones and eight motorcycles from the spot. All the accused were taken into custody and later produced before the court.

Confirming the development, Sadar SDPO Rabinarayan Bhanja shared details of the operation during a press briefing, stating that further legal action is underway.
