Bhubaneswar, Jan 10: In a major push to strengthen digital governance, the Odisha government has introduced a new indigenous email system for all state officials, developed by OCAC. Alongside this, OCAC has also rolled out “Alap”, a homegrown video conferencing platform, which will be made mandatory for official use.

The initiative ensures that all government data remains secure, with the data center located within Odisha. From block and district-level officers to top state officials, all will be required to use the new system. Officers have been instructed to create official email IDs with @odisha.gov.in.

Additionally, the government will replace traditional paper diaries with an e-diary, enabling officials to submit their routine work schedules digitally. The platforms are smartphone-friendly, and OKAK will provide two dedicated help desks to assist users.

This move not only enhances data security but also reduces reliance on external hosting platforms, marking a significant step in Odisha’s journey toward fully digital governance.
