New Delhi, September 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 76 on Thursday, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Ministers and other BJP leaders extending birthday greetings and highlighting his tenure and public service.
Yogi Adityanath congratulated the Prime Minister and praised his leadership, describing Modi as the “world's most popular leader” and the architect of “New India.”
In his message, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said Modi’s commitment to “Nation First” and public welfare had inspired efforts towards achieving the goal of a “Developed India.”
Adityanath also said that India had reached new milestones in areas including self-reliance, governance, cultural development and its standing globally under Modi’s leadership. He wished the Prime Minister good health and a long life.
Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar also conveyed his birthday wishes to Modi during an interaction in Kolkata.
Speaking about the Prime Minister’s 76th birthday, Majumdar said Modi’s contribution should be viewed not only in terms of the length of his time in office but also in terms of how he had governed the country.
Majumdar said India had made progress despite global challenges, and referred to the claim that 25 crore people had moved out of multidimensional poverty under Modi’s leadership. He attributed the figure to the World Bank.
He also highlighted India’s recent economic growth, saying GDP growth had reached between 7.8 and 8 per cent despite conflicts and other geopolitical challenges around the world.
The BJP is also set to launch the ‘Seva Sankalp’ campaign across states as part of programmes marking the Prime Minister’s birthday.
