Delhi, January 1: Dream of Bullet Train Project in India is going to be a reality by 15th August 2027, said Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday.
The Railways Minister said the Bullet Train project in India is marking a major milestone in railway modernisation journey, India's first bullet train is most likely to begin operation in 2027.
"The bullet train will be ready in 2027, August 15th, 2027. The first section to open will be from Surat to Bilimora. After that, Vapi to Surat will open. Then Vapi to Ahmedabad will open, and after that, Thane to Ahmedabad will open, and then Mumbai to Ahmedabad will open," said Vaishnaw.
"It will be completely indigenous including three basic factors like suspension bogey, propulsion and vehicle control technology.
The high-speed rail project, which is currently under construction, is expected to majorly reduce travel time between Mumbai in Maharashtra and Ahmedabad in Gujarat and introduce global standards of rail infrastructure in the country.
