Paris Olympics: Boxer Lovlina, archer Deepika, shuttler Lakshya win

Paris, July 31:  Indian participants in Paris Olympics 2024 had an eventful and successful Wednesday.

Boxer Lovlina Borgohain, archer Deepika Kumari, shuttlers PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen, shooter Swapnil Kusale and TT player Sreeja Akula won their respective matches and advanced to the next rounds.  

In the women's boxing, Lovlina Borgohain qualified for the quartfinals in  75kg category. She is one win away from a medal finish.

The Tokyo Olympics Bronze medal winner Lovlina, advanced to the quarterfinals after clinching a comfortable win over Norway's Sunniva Hofstad, here. She prevailed 5-0 in the contest to remain on course for a second successive Olympic medal.

In badminton, PV Sindhu and  Lakshya Sen qualified for the round of 16, in women's and men's individual events respectively..

Earlier in the day, Swapnil Kushale booked his place into men's 50m rifle 3-position finals, while in archery Deepika Kumari qualified for the round of 16 in women's individual event.
