
Bhubaneswar, Sept 25: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Thursday participated in the "Swachhata Hi Seva 2025" campaign, a cleanliness drive held near Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar, on occasion of 110th birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
The cleanliness drive was organized by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), and saw the participation of Ministers, legislators, Mayor, local residents, and students.
During the event, CM Majhi along with other dignitaries, paid heartfelt tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and actively took part in cleaning the surrounding areas.
CM Majhi also planted sapling near the Devi Padahara Pond in Old Town area of the city as part of the ‘Ek Ped Ma Ke Naam 2.0’ initiative.
He emphasized the importance of ensuring that basic amenities reach every corner of society, especially to the underprivileged, under the ideals of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Addressing the gathering, CM Majhi paid tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, stating, "Today is not an ordinary day; it is an opportunity to remember and honor one of our nation's greatest thinkers, nationalists, and idealistic leaders. His philosophy of 'Antyodaya' – the upliftment of the last person in the society – is still a guiding light for us today."
He further noted that Pandit Upadhyaya’s contributions to India’s cultural and economic thought were invaluable.
The event also saw participation from key political figures, including Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, Bhubaneswar-Ekamra MLA Babu Singh, BMC Mayor Sulochana Das, and other local leaders.
