Rourkela, April 7: In a crackdown on illegal gas trading, the Supply Department, with assistance from Sector-7 Police, conducted a raid near Lugun Park in Sector-9 and seized over 150 LPG cylinders.

According to officials, the seized stock includes both domestic and commercial cylinders. The raid was carried out at a garage where illegal gas business had allegedly been operating for several days.

Sources said the accused were involved in black marketing of LPG, particularly during periods of supply shortage.

Acting on specific inputs, the joint team launched the operation and confiscated the cylinders. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of the illegal trade and identify those involved.
