Bhubaneswar, April 10: The application deadline for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2026 has been extended till May 9, the board announced. Earlier, the last date for submission of applications was Thursday midnight.

The extension comes after several candidates failed to apply within the stipulated timeframe, prompting the board to provide another opportunity to aspirants.

According to sources, over 70,000 candidates have already submitted their applications for the examination. A considerable number of in-service teachers are also among the applicants.

With the deadline now extended by a month, the number of applicants is expected to rise further and may surpass the one lakh mark, officials indicated.
