Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Tennis Association (OTA) successfully conducted its Annual General Body Meeting on 10th May 2025, during which the new Executive Council for the term 2025–2029 was formally elected. The meeting was chaired by Asit Tripathy who served as President in the previous tenure and continues in the role for the current term.

During the meeting, President Asit Tripathy, outlined the association’s roadmap for strengthening tennis at the grassroots level. He underlined the importance of developing infrastructure and structured coaching programs across districts, describing it as essential to building a strong foundation and nurturing future talent in the state. He reiterated that empowering local centres would ensure a continuous stream of players progressing through the competitive ranks.
Echoing this vision, newly elected Secretary Sanjeeb Panda, IPS, highlighted the need to identify and support emerging tennis talent within Odisha. He stressed the importance of increasing match-play exposure by conducting more junior tournaments within the state, thus minimizing the need for players to travel distances. Shri Panda also mentioned plans to bring more national-level professional men’s and women’s tournaments to Odisha, aimed at boosting the state’s profile in Indian tennis. Furthermore, he mentioned the need to strengthen the coaching ecosystem network and create a pool of certified officials from the state to enable efficient organization of high-quality events.
