Bhubaneswar, May 5: The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) has announced the cancellation of the written test for the Combined Recruitment Examination held on April 27, following the discovery of significant errors in the question paper.
The decision was made after candidates reported that crucial sections of the syllabus—English, Odia Literature, and General Knowledge (GK)—were entirely missing from the exam paper. The omission led to widespread concern and feedback from examinees across the state.
In response, the OSSC acknowledged the oversight, expressed regret for the error, and assured candidates that appropriate corrective measures would be taken.
Based on a review of the feedback received and in accordance with the rules outlined under the “Combined Recruitment Examination for Different Posts with Physical Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test, Rules, 2022,” the Commission decided to nullify the April 27 test.
The OSSC has now officially scheduled a fresh written examination for July 6, with a formal notification issued today.
The Commission emphasized that the decision was made to uphold the integrity and fairness of the recruitment process, and thanked candidates for their valuable suggestions and patience.
